Andy Symonds and Tom Owens are leading the male class at end of stage 2 having extended their lead over the first 2 stages to almost 50 minutes in the Transalpine Race . Angela Mudge is also part of the leading two in the mixed category.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE
Andy & Tom today won the stage and the race itself in a new record time of just over 24 hours to cover 240K with 15,000 metres of ascent – phew. Angela did the same in the mixed category with another scots lass (Iona Robertson of Bella) in 2nd place.
Nice to know that Scots are BEST IN WORLD at something.

Those guys are something else. Seen them both at many hill races – always in the distance.
Have to say that running with Nordic walking poles is a bit strange and wouldn’t be allowed in Scotland.
