NAAC had their first 10K race in Ardrossan on Sunday and what a well organised race it was too!
Registration and preparation for the start was really slick. Helped by the near perfect weather (OK it was a little blustery on the sea front!). Race started and finished on the very nice running track at St Matthews Academy in Saltcoats….. Which made for good support from spectators at the beginning and the end of a fairly flat course, just one short sharp uphill onto a footbridge at about 4.5miles. The route was really well marshalled and plenty of spectators cheering us on. Finished off with a great goody bag, including Techinal Tshirt, running socks, snacks and water.
The newly elected men’s
captain, Jim Phillips, couldn’t run due to being “on call” for work but he still showed his Tortoise Colours by cheering the 7 runners from our team on….. Even dashing about in his van to give support in more than one location! Thanks Jim!
