Twenty six Tortoises attended the physio session taken by Michelle Pollock on Tuesday 6th October, Michelle took the warm up and showed members both dynamic and static stretches and talked through any injury questions, the evening was a success and all members i spoke to got a lot out of the session, thanks to Michelle for attending and Graeme for organising.

Seventeen Tortoises then put Michelle’s new warm up techniques into practise and ran October’s 5k, for the first time we trialled a staggered start with runners who are still new to running this distance setting off ten minutes ahead of the other runners, four runners took advantage of this and the feedback was good so this is something we will look to continue at Novemnber’s 5K.

Matt Pearce continued his fine recent form by coming home first followed by Stewart and Jim with Rob making his return to the 5K with a fourth place finish, great running also from Lewis Wilson who pushed the leaders right up to the last few meters, Richard Deal who posted a great time on his road to recovery after injury and also to Laura Stott who posted a PB.
