Matt Pearce – 01:27:24 PB – finished 10th out of 214 runners and got 2nd Placed Veteran.
This unusual race is organised by Edinburgh University. it consists of seven Laps of the same course, including  one very small hill (but you get to run down it as well!) about half a mile of uneven cobbles but apart from that its all on smooth tarmac paths in Meadows Park.

Seven Laps might seem a boring thing to do, but it actually made it quite interesting – if it was a one 13.1 mile lap route I probably wouldn’t have been near any other runners for most of the time – the runner ahead of me was a couple of minutes ahead likewise the nearest runner behind.

This 7 lap route mixed everyone up so that you were not out on the circuit alone – after the first lap you were always passing people of differing speeds and encouraging one another. I dont think that I could muster the enthusiasm for the full marathon’s 14 laps though !!
