Well the training is now over and it’s almost race day.

Here are the details for next weeks Manchester marathon and relay marathon.

Pick up = 11am at The Walker Hall Saturday 6th April.

Payment for the hotel is on arrival.

Breakfast starts at 06.30.

Evening meal – The hotel has a menu available which is the usual hotel offering, close to the hotel there are a few restaurant’s, a coffee/ shop bistro open until 6pm and a Sainsbury’s local.

We will not have access to the bus until after the event so only take into the hotel what you are comfortable in leaving at the bag drop on the day off the race, the bus will be parked in a coach park away from the hotel.

Stockport train station is opposite the hotel with trains every 10 minutes to the city centre taking around 7 minutes on the direct trains, useful for those who want to attend the pre race event in the city centre which is open until 8pm or catch a meal in the city.

Race Day – We will be taking taxi’s (07.20) to Manchester Piccadilly to catch the Metrolink tram to OLD TRAFFORD tram stop which is where the bag drop is situated, the taxi cost will be around £5 pp payable on the day.

Post event – The pick up point post race will be confirmed at the hotel once I have spoken to the driver and we have checked the road closure map but its likely either to be a few stops away on the metrolink or close to Old Trafford football club, we aim to be leaving around 16.00 if not earlier if everyone has finished and recovered sufficiently.

Remember – your race number – pins – trainers – kit – dry and wet weather kit – small towel for your drop bag – olds long sleeve top to throw away at the start line, alcohol for the return journey 🙂
