DOGS, buggies, bikes, bacon rolls, sunshine and even a fly-past from the Red
Arrows – our 1 in 100 runners encountered all of these at the weekend as they
took on our 100-street challenge to raise funds and mental health awareness for
    Support in Mind Scotland.
Scotland rugby legend Scott Hastings and his wife Jenny have given fantastic
backing to Support in Mind Scotland since they learned of our work and our
annual 1 in 100 campaign, and they led a group of runners round 100 streets of
Edinburgh on Sunday on a gloriously sunny morning.
Twenty-four hours earlier on the west coast, Anne Noble from the Troon
Tortoises Running Club also undertook the challenge with her friends Ian and
Caroline, running an impressive 16 miles round Troon and Barassie and then
watching in a amazement as the Red Arrows whizzed overhead just after they had
    finished their 100th street!
The world-famous aerobatic team were in the area to headline an air show, and
their appearance was the perfect way end to the run.
After completing the challenge, Anne, above, said: “Mission accomplished! We
finished at noon and asked someone to take our photo – almost immediately there
was a flypast from the Red Arrows! What a way to finish a race!”
